LOW ALCOHOL SUMMER RUM COCKTAILS

As the New Year unfolds with the promise of a fresh start, we've seen an uptick in resolutions revolving around a commitment to Dry January or a preference to opt for low-alcohol cocktails. 

 

Over the last 5 years in our Brix journey, we have learnt that while there is certainly an engaged audience who loves a big boozy cocktail, there is also a growing community that craves a light refreshing sipper, especially when it comes to drinking in the hot Aussie summer.

 

Within this emerging trend, we've seen a more discerning consumer steering themselves towards more versatile, small-batch, better quality spirits—a movement towards mindful consumption that aligns with the modern drinker's quest for a more nuanced and satisfying drinking experience.

With that in mind, we've put together our favourite low-alcohol Brix Rum cocktails. These libations are designed to be light on alcohol content while heavy on satisfaction. The result? A perfect companion for lazy afternoons by the pool, sunset gatherings, or impromptu beach BBQs. 


BRIX CITRUS GOT REAL MANDARIN SPRITZ

A ZESTY BOTANICAL TWIST ON THE CLASSIC SPRITZ 


INGREDIENTS

45ML CITRUS GOT REAL MANDARIN LIQUEUR

45ML PROSECCO

150ML SODA WATER

FRESH MANDARINS TO GARNISH​

[For an even lighter option, remove prosecco]


METHOD

1) Add Citrus Got Real, Mandarin Liqueur to a wine glass  

2) Fill the glass with ice 

3) Slowly stir to chill & top with soda water 

4) Garnish with fresh mandarin slice





BRIX AUSTRALIAN MANGO RUM + TONIC

A COOL, CRISP TROPICAL HIGHBALL 



INGREDIENTS

45ML BRIX MANGO RUM

100ML TONIC WATER

LIME WEDGE​


METHOD

1) Add Brix Mango Rum to a highball glass with ice 

2) Stir gently to chill 

3) Squeeze in the juice from a lime wedge 

4) Top with tonic water 

5) Garnish with a lime slice





BRIX SPICED RUM + APPLE 

SUBTLY SPICY, YET SWEET



INGREDIENTS

45ML BRIX SPICED RUM

100ML FRESHLY JUICED GREEN APPLE

APPLE FAN​


METHOD

1) Add Brix Spiced Rum to a highball glass & fill with ice 

2) Top with freshly juiced green apple​

3) Stir to chill​

3) Garnish with a green apple fan and shaved nutmeg






BRIX CANE SPIRIT + GRAPEFRUIT SODA 

FRESH, BRIGHT + ZINGY 



INGREDIENTS

45ML BRIX CANE SPIRIT​

100ML  SPARKLING GRAPEFRUIT SODA

GRAPEFRUIT SLICE 


METHOD

​1) Add Brix Cane Spirit to a highball glass & fill with ice 

2) Stir gently to chill 

3) Top with grapefruit soda 

4) Garnish with a grapefruit slice
